| George Waltus Hargis was the son of William Abner Hargis and Sarah Drucilla Hargis. He was born 18 September 1878 and died 21 Jan 1968. His remains were laid to rest in Assumption, Illinois. DeMeares Hargis Hargis was the daughter of John Franklin Hargis and Martha Ann Hasselatine Cothron. Born on the 13th of August in 1883 she died in Taylorville, ILL, Dec 19, 1918 of Influenza. Her remains were laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery. He worked as a conductor/baggage man on the railroad. They came to Cairo, Illinois from Lafayette, TN via St. Louis, MO and Taylorsville, Illinois. |

Aubrey, Elva Franklin, Jewell Leatha and Millard Waltus Hargis. All of these children are deceased. Jewell Leatha Hasselatine Hargis was the last of the children passing away at 100 years old May 22, 2006. |
